Information You Choose to Send
Terms Entered in Search Tools
A name, location, or other term entered in a search feature is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Presque Isle County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider processes the request under its own privacy terms and technical practices.
Messages Sent to Us
If you send an email or submit a contact message, we retain the information needed to read the request and respond. A message may include your name, reply address, and any details you choose to provide. We do not share contact messages outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Details Collected Automatically
Routine technical information can be recorded when a browser requests a page. These records help deliver the site, measure performance, spot misuse, and diagnose errors. Depending on the browser and service involved, the information may include:
- the Internet Protocol address associated with the request;
- the browser name, version, and related settings;
- the device category and operating system;
- the pages opened and the time spent on them;
- the referring page or site, when one is supplied; and
- the date and time connected with each request.
Cookies and Similar Storage
Cookies may be used to understand how visitors move through the site and how features perform. Most browsers let users block or remove cookies through their settings. Disabling them may change how some functions, preferences, analytics, or advertising features behave.
Reasons We Use Information
Collected information is used only for operating, evaluating, and supporting the service. Those uses include:
- keeping pages available, responsive, and reliable;
- sending search requests to the correct outside search partner;
- learning which Presque Isle County record topics visitors use;
- finding, investigating, and repairing technical faults; and
- displaying advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests.
Privacy Beyond This Website
Links may lead to Presque Isle County release-record resources, the Sheriff's jail pages, Michigan courts, MDOC, parole and probation services, VINELink, federal or immigration custody tools, legal resources, and third-party search providers. Official records may be subject to laws such as the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 through 15.246. Once a visitor follows an outbound link, the destination's privacy notice and terms govern its collection and use of information.
Advertising providers may use their own cookies or similar technology to understand activity across more than one site and select interest-based ads. That processing occurs on the advertising provider's systems, not within the records maintained directly by Presque Isle County Released Inmates.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be disclosed or transmitted when needed for a service to work, for measurement, or to comply with legal duties. Recipients can include:
- search partners that receive and process submitted queries;
- analytics services used to measure visits and performance;
- advertising networks that deliver or assess advertisements; and
- law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order.
Safeguards and Their Limits
We use standard administrative and technical practices intended to reduce unauthorized access, misuse, or loss. Security is a best-effort process. No website, network connection, storage system, or transmission method can be promised as completely secure or breach-proof.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly request or collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor sent personal data may use the contact page to request review and deletion.
Choices About Personal Data
Subject to applicable law and verification of the request, a person may ask us to take the following actions concerning personal data held directly by this site:
- provide a copy of available personal data connected with the requester;
- correct information that is inaccurate;
- erase information where a valid deletion request applies; or
- stop or limit certain processing where an opt-out right applies.
These choices do not control records held by the Presque Isle County Sheriff, courts, MDOC, another government agency, or a third-party search provider. Requests concerning those records or services must be directed to the organization that maintains them.
Changes to This Privacy Notice
We may revise this Privacy Notice as services, legal duties, or data practices change. The updated wording will be posted on this page and identified with a new effective date. Continued use after posting is subject to the revised notice.
